The Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu Constituency and Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has reaffirmed his commitment to expanding educational opportunities for Ghanaians.
In a gesture of support, he presented GHC105,000 to the Volta Students Association of the University of Ghana, Legon. The donation is intended to cover the fees of 33 students facing financial challenges.
According to Mr. Afenyo-Markin, the initiative is part of his broader vision to inspire young people to pursue careers in critical fields such as medicine, education, engineering, law, and journalism—professions he believes are essential for the nation’s development.
He emphasized that the intervention seeks to reduce the financial burden on families, especially those in rural communities, ensuring that students have the resources they need to thrive academically.
Speaking on behalf of the association, Xorvi Gideon , President of the Volta Students Association, expressed profound gratitude to the Minority Leader for his timely support.
