The New Juaben South Municipal Assembly (NJSMA) has organized a community engagement program at Adweso and Oguaa as part of efforts to involve residents in shaping the municipality’s development agenda.
Speaking at the event, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye, commended community members for openly sharing their challenges and development needs.
He noted that although the Assembly is committed to addressing their concerns, it will not be possible to meet all the demands at once.
“Community members have expressed several needs, including speed ramps, access to potable water, youth employment, health facilities, and more. The Assembly will prioritize and address them gradually,” Hon. Owusu Boakye stated.
Madam Irean Alaba, the Municipal Development Planning Officer, explained that the program forms part of the Assembly’s preparation of its Medium-Term Development Plan. By law, every Assembly in Ghana prepares a four-year development plan, as the current one ends on December 2025.
She indicatedCommunity new plan will cover the period 2026 to 2029.

Madam Alaba emphasized that community consultations are crucial in identifying and prioritizing pressing issues to be included in the plan.
She also acknowledged the support of STAR-Ghana Foundation, which is one of the Assembly’s key partnerd in funding the process.
Meanwhile, same event is being held at the Srodae and Nsukwao Zonal Council on Wednesday to also engage with people in those areas.
