“Measles and cervical cancer vaccination campaigns, plus improved veterinary services mark healthy community transformation”
The Municipal Chief Executive of New Juaben North, Hon. Samuel Adongo, says the health and agriculture sectors have recorded major improvements during the third quarter of 2025.
According to him, the Municipal Health Directorate reported a general improvement in health indicators, reflecting effective collaboration between government, health workers, and community stakeholders.

Upper Respiratory Infections (3,908 cases) and malaria (2,568 cases) topped outpatient attendance lists, but intensified sanitation and hygiene campaigns helped reduce disease spread.
Out of 1,179 HIV tests, 52 individuals tested positive, with 39 linked to treatment. The MCE urged the public to “embrace voluntary testing and treatment to protect lives.”
He also lauded the successful measles vaccination mop-up and the cervi
cal cancer vaccination campaign for girls aged 7–14, held in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO).
On agriculture, Hon. Adongo commended the Department of Agriculture for its strong presence at the Eastern Regional Commodity Satellite Market Fair, where local farmers showcased maize, vegetables, palm oil, and livestock.
He highlighted the Alternative Livelihood Project, under which 6,000 oil palm seedlings were distributed to 38 farmers, and confirmed that the Veterinary Unit vaccinated over 400 animals, preventing any major disease outbreak.

“These interventions are proof that when government, farmers, and the people work together, development becomes unstoppable,” the MCE stated.
