The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has received assurances from Dr. Dickson Adomako Kissi, a former MP for Anyaa Sowutuom and member of Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s campaign team, that Acheampong is still dedicated to the party in spite of his defeat in the presidential primary.
“Based on his manifesto, I know that he will push us as a party to return to the true culture of patriotism, selflessness, and the things that made NPP NPP,” Kissi told JoyNews’ AM Show.
He added, “He wanted the party to go back to basics and return to the strategies that made our party win and made it likeable to all of Ghana. He cannot depart from that.”
Kissi noted that Acheampong’s goal has always been about unity and growth.
“His focus has always been about strengthening the NPP and making it attractive to Ghanaians again,” he said.
The statements follow Dr Bawumia’s clear victory over Dr Acheampong and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong in the NPP flagbearer election.
