The Constituency Executives, Ward Coordinators, Branch Executives and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Atiwa East have strongly condemned what they describe as continuous defamatory attacks against the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atiwa East, Hon. Ernest Owusu Ntim.
At a press conference held in the constituency on Wednesday and addressed by Begyina Isaac and Kyei Baffour Youth,Constituency Secretary and Organizer ,the party executives accused one Daniel Ansah, popularly known as Abeiku and a resident of Ankaase, of peddling falsehoods aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the DCE.
The NDC executives alleged that the attacks against the DCE are linked to his firm stance against illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey.
They accused Daniel Ansah alias Abeiku of being a key figure in illegal land takeovers and mining activities within the district.

According to the party, several communities including Asamang Tamfoe, Osino, and Ankaase have suffered significant farmland destruction due to his illegal mining activities.
The party further claimed that in Asamang Tamfoe alone, more than 200 farmers reportedly lost about 70 hectares of farmland to illegal operations. They also alleged that land reserved by traditional authorities in the area for use as a cemetery had been forcefully taken over by individuals involved in illegal mining.
The NDC maintained that since Hon. Ernest Owusu Ntim assumed office, efforts to clamp down on such activities have intensified, significantly reducing illegal operations in the district.
During the press conference, the executives also cautioned a Council of State member urging her to desist from any actions that could undermine the unity and stability of the constituency.
They stated that they would not tolerate any form of betrayal within the party’s ranks.
The NDC called on the public and the media to disregard what they described as unsubstantiated allegations circulated on social media against the DCE.
They reaffirmed their support for Hon. Ernest Owusu Ntim and praised President John Dramani Mahama for appointing him, describing the DCE as one of the best-performing in the country in areas such as land reclamation, the fight against illegal mining, and policy implementation.
The party reiterated its commitment to protecting the lands, livelihoods, and future of the people of Atiwa East.
