Ghanaian rapper Maradona Yeboah Adjei known as Guru has disclosed that he had about 800 songs as an underground artiste before he became a household name in the entertainment industry.
Guru made this pronouncement in an interview with Zion Felix in the uncut show on Zion Felix TV.
He said that as an underground artiste he recorded lots of songs that didn’t see the light because he wasn’t popular at that time.
However, after his song “Kaseabo” with Obrafour came out he began to take an uplift walk in his career.
According to him, the song attracted lots of controversies as it was tagged as a ‘diss’ song to “someone” in the music industry.
He admitted that though it wasn’t for anyone he is still paying the price of the outcome of the song.
Guru continued that some managers did not allow him to feature their artistes on his album when he needed singers due to that song.
The saddest part is that he had worked with some of the managers of the camp when he was an upcoming artiste.
He added that it doesn’t really affect him but he is glad he been through all that.
“I don’t really have anything against them but it has taught me that if I had depended on other artistes for my breakthrough, I wouldn’t be here”, he said.
