The launch of the 6th edition of the Schools Sanitation Inspection Tour organized by One on One Foundation and Dreamland Sports Plus comes off at the Alisa Hotel on Friday 7th February 2020 at 10:00am.
Mr. Emmanuel Olla Williams, president of One on One Foundation and CEO of Dreamland Sports Plus Ltd thanked Unilever for supporting the programme that makes Ghanaian student conscious about hygiene, health and fitness.
He said the theme for this year is “Poor Sanitation – A Canker That Must Be Eliminated at the Very Youthful Stage of Our Lives”.
He expressed that the concept is unique as they visit second cycle schools in Ghana and educate students and teachers on personal and environmental hygiene, before organizing sports and other competitions to bring the best out of them.
He said after over five years, they have come a long way and want to be all over educational institutions in the country.
He named some of the guests to grace the launch as the deputy minister for sanitation and water resources – Hon. Michael Gyato, deputy minister of health – Hon. Tina Gifty Naa Ayele Mensah, deputy Greater Accra regional minister – Madam Elizabeth Sackey, and the deputy minister of railways – Hon. Kweku Agyenim Boateng.
Some
members of parliament who have confirmed participation in the programme as well
as the Mayor of Accra, Hon. Mohammed Adjei Sowah, the director general of the
Ghana Education Service – Prof. Kwesi Opoku Amankwa, deputy director general
(Technical) at the National Sports Authotity (NSA) – Mr. Saka Acquaye and
National P. E. Coordinator – Mr. Emmanuel Dormenyah.
About 20 heads of second cycle schools are also
attending the event which would be compared by Theo Sampa of GTV Sports fame.
Mr. Olla Williams thanked the producers of Vim, Key, Brilliant and Rexona soaps for supporting the programme and appealed to the media to promote the event.
