Director-General of the Ghana Health Service and a former Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Dr Anthony Nsiah Asare has cautioned Ghanaians to avoid contact activities such as kissing, hugging and among others in order to prevent them from spreading the deadly disease.
Coronavirus is a common virus that causes an infection in the nose or upper throat and some of the common symptoms attain from the virus are; fever, cough, shortness of breath.
Speaking to Abena Pokua Ahwenee On Dadi FM’s “Efa wo ho” morning show, Dr Anthony averred that one can easily get the risk of the virus through kissing, hugging, touching things such as doorknobs, mobiles phones and among others.
“Wash your hands frequently with soap and clean water for at least 20 seconds, especially after shaking other people hands, hugging, before and after eating or visiting washroom as well as touching money. This is to help not to get contact with the disease”, he advised.
He added that one must use handkerchief and tissue to cover the mouth when coughing or sneezing and also to walk along with alcohol based-sanitizer that can help them to clean their hands regularly.
Dr. Nsiah Asare therefore educate the public to avoid touching their nose, eye, ear and every part of their body that easily attract the virus.
