Pupils and teachers of New-Senchi RC basic schools in Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region will no longer have to panic at the sight of rain clouds during school hours.
The Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Thomas Ampem Nyarko has started work on the construction of storm bridge and drains across a stream that causes flooding of the school compound and also renders the community unaccessible by vehicles from Senchi whenever it rains.
The attention of the MP was drawn to the need for a new bridge across the stream when he visited the Chiefs of the area Sunday, 1st January, 2020 to wish them a happy new year.
According to the chiefs, parents always have to rush to the school to pick their wards home whenever its about to rain for fear of the children getting drowned in the stream when crossing.
He promised to help construct the bridge to help solve the problem and avert any future possible disaster and true to his words, the construction work has started just a day after visiting the place.
