Assembly member for Kumawu-Dadease electoral area in the Sekyere Kumawu district of Ashanti region, Hon. Kofi Adade has been praised for his consistent support to the Education of orphans and needy students since 2013 to date .
The commendation of Hon. Adade follows another presentation of educational materials to orphans and needy students within his electoral area.
The Kumawu- Dadease Assembly member who is also a journalist at Kumasi based Oyerepa fm/TV, however, lamented about skyrocketing prices of text and exercise books.
According to him, nowadays educational materials are too high to purchase and called for urgent reduction.
Hon. Kofi Adade said he has supported the needy orphans in his electoral area since 2013 till date with learning materials like exercise books, pen, pencil, mathematics set and others but the prices of this year’s items are too expensive.
He is, therefore, appealing to sellers of the material to reduce the prices since the dollar and prices of fuel have been reduced.
Some Ghanaians have since reopening of school have been complaining about the high prices of books and educational materials, especially those with their wards in private schools.
