The Ghana Library Authority has collaborated with Vodafone Ghana Foundation to bring technology to the forefront of connecting Ghanaians to knowledge resources.
To realize this partnership, nine public libraries across the country now have ICT centers accessible to the public. In a ribbon-cutting ceremony held in Kumasi, the Ashanti Library ICT center was officially commissioned and unveiled.
The CEO of Vodafone Ghana, Ms. Patricia Obo-Nai, and the CEO of Ghana Library Authority, Mr. Hayford Siaw, were joined by senior officials of both institutions to mark the occasion.
The other beneficiary libraries that now have access to the ICT centers include the Central, Eastern, and Volta Regional Libraries, Accra Central Library, Techiman Library, Sunyani Library, Takoradi Library, and Tema Library.
This positive step is expected to enhance the overall reading and learning culture in the country.
