“Education is the cornerstone of any thriving industry, and in banking, ethics forms the bedrock of trust and sustainability” Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has stated.
He made the assertion when he took the stage at the launch of the 60th Anniversary of the Chartered Institute of Bankers – Ghana (CIB-Ghana) as a keynote speaker on Tuesday 12th September 2023.
The event, held under the theme “Redefining Professionalism in Banking through Ethics,” served as a beacon for ethical standards in the banking sector.
Addressing a distinguished audience of seasoned bankers, aspiring professionals, and notable dignitaries, the lauded the institute for its enduring commitment to elevating banking standards through education and ethics.
The Chartered Institute of Bankers – Ghana, with its six decades of dedicated service, has been instrumental in advancing the standards and expertise within the banking industry.
The journey to becoming a great banker begins from kindergarten hence we need to improve and transform our educational system which will produce critical-thinking bankers right from childhood.
Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum urged the institute to intensify its corporate social responsibility and partner with the ministry to transform the fortunes of education in Ghana.
“Let us work together to support children, especially from underserved communities to also have access to equal opportunities in Education because everyone deserves a chance to be great” he added.
