Crusader Paschaline Obiri -Yeboah and Jenifer Kwakyewaa Nkrumah, Young Apostles Crusaders of the Catholic Youth Organisation in Asamankese Unit surprised supporters and colleagues contestants by winning maiden Asamankese Christian Youth Bible Quiz Competition organized by Local Council of Churches in the Area for the Youth from 15 to 35 years from the various Churches.
The crusaders victory came after beating Global Revival Ministry Church in the Preliminary stage, and the United Pentecostal Church and New Creation Church in the Semi Final stage with 47 points against 39 and 43 respectively for the other contestants.
After successful Preliminary and Semi Final Competition which brought together with 18 churches in the Local Council,St. Mary Catholic Church Representatives took the first position with 78 points,Holy Prayer Ministry Church had 75 and Perez Chapel Youth had 71 points.
The Crusaders who represented the Catholic Church were given Two Bibles,Three Golden medals, Certificate,Cup and Undisclosed Cash whilst the other two Church’s contestants also got Two Bibles,Three bronze medals, Certificate each and Undisclosed Cash.
Reverend Samuel Ayisi K. Ampofo, General Secretary for Local Council of Churches in Asamankese and head Pastor of New Testament Assemblies who led the organization of the maiden Christian Youth Bible Quiz Competition said he had the dream about ten years ago and prayed to the Lord to help him to accomplish the task and he was grateful to God and all the Pastors and Churches who participated and supported his vision.
He said the Competition has come to stay and it will be organized annually and called on churches which could not participate to take advantage next year.
The General Secretary acknowledged the Contestants from the Preliminary stage to the final competition and said this will empower the Youth to be studying the Bible always.
Reverend Father James Buah Nkwantabisa, Parish Priest for the Saint Mary Catholic Church who joined his Crusaders to support them was happy for his contestants victory and he later unveiled them to the church during Sunday evening Rosary Prayer.
