The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah has questioned why the FDA allowed alleged expired and contaminated rice to be on the market.
According to the chairman of the Ashanti regional security council, it is wrong for the FDA to allow such food to be out of the market after collecting money for their services which was not well delivered.
“We don’t understand it, and it’s wrong because with this issue, it has both health and security implications so how can you charge these criminals with a contaminated rice and allow it to be sent to students” he noted.
Mr. Simon Osei Mensah disclosed this during his interview on Bryt fm Adekye Mu Nsem with Kwamina Sam Biney on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 on the alleged unwholesome Moshosho rice sent to the various SHSs by the Buffer Stock Company Ltd.
“The FDA were supposed to throw it away since you confirm that is not good to our bodies especially the SHS student. We are still on our investigation, and I’m sure that we’ll find those criminals who did that” he stated.
He assured Ghanaians that his outfit would conduct investigation into the matter as videos released by the NDC Regional executives identifies the perpetrators and bring them to book.
