Samuel Boateng, Political Analyst has warned the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana to be careful in their dealings as the date for this year’s general elections draws closer
He was of the view that some petty mistakes by the EC could have been avoided if much care is taken in the their preparations towards the election day
The EC on Sunday held a press conference where the Chairperson Jean Mensah indicated that the special voting exercise would not be able to come off in both Eastern and Western regions, due to leakage of ballot papers meant to be destroyed.
The EC, has however, scheduled Thursday, December 5 for those in Eastern and Western regions to partake in the special voting before the general elections on Saturday, 5th December.
Commenting on the matter on Bryt Adekyee Mu Nsem with Kwamina Sam Biney, Mr. Samuel Boateng faulted the EC for its actions, indicating it could have effect on the trust Ghanaians have in the electoral body.
Even though he could not attribute it to intentional action, the political analyst said the situation could affect the credibility of outcome of the elections since most people even have questions about the activities of the EC.
