Eastern Regional Minister, Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, stopped at a scene of a tragic accident on the Brekumaso-Asamankese road in the Lower West Akim Municipality on Monday to assist rescue team save lives.
A pick-up vehicle onboard with passengers caught fire after veering off the road and crashing.

The victims who were trapped in the car were rescued and transported to the Asamankese Government Hospital for medical attention.
The minister, who was en route to the Denkyembour District for an officials duty engaged stopped at the accident scene to engage the rescue team mainly personal from the Ghana National Fire Service who were extinguishing the fire.

The Minister commended them for their swift response and pledged government support to provide the needed logistics to protect lives and properties.
The Minister also engaged the community members and drivers, and rged the driver to always adhere to road safety regulations to curb the increasing cases of road crashes and related fatalities in the region.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
