The Chancellor of Presbyterian University Ghana (PUG) and doubles as the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye has called for the full funding and investment into graduates research in Private Universities in Ghana.
According to the Chancellor, Research funding for Public Universities is not enough to scale out results oriented researches whiles Private Universities on the other hand receives no such research funding support for its graduates.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye further urged government through GETFUND to adequately invest in Graduates research for both Public and Private Universities, this he said will help build a knowledge- based and a more resilient economy.
The Chancellor/ Moderator made the disclosure during the “7th Congregation Ceremony of School of Graduate Studies” of the Presbyterian University Ghana (PUG) in Kwahu Abetifi Ramseyer Training Center to honour graduands with their respective master’s degree certificates.

Additionally, Rt. Rev. Dr Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye admonished government to remain focus and adopt more stringent measures in its galamsey fight to end the menace.

Finally, the Vice Chancellor of Presbyterian University Ghana (PUG) Prof. John Ofosu- Anim charges graduates in the Faculty of Environmental Health and Sanitation to assist the country with the knowledge acquired in that field to find solutions to Ghana’s environmental challenges.
