The Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Finance has granted a financial clearance for the posting
Of Environmental Health Officers and Assistants who completed their course study from the Schools of Hygiene in Accra, Tamale and Ho from 2010 to 2019.
The approval of this posting is to augment the existing capacity to improve the implementation of Environmental Health and sanitation policies, plans, and programs in the country.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by Mr.James Oppong Mensah, Acting Chief Director at the Local Government service, and said the deadline for submission of information is Friday, 22nd May 2020.
Graduates from Schools of Hygiene are therefore requested to visit the Local Government Service website and complete the information forms and upload a scanned copy of their certificate to facilitate the process.
Since 2017, some graduate students have been picketing Headquarters of the Office of Local Government Service (OHLGS) to demand jobs.
The graduates from the School of Hygiene in Accra, Tamale, and Ho have since 2016 been at home without employment say it is their fundamental human rights for the government to post them to the various ministries, departments, and agencies.
Out of the 1,300 environmental health graduates, only three of them have since 2016 have been given employment letters by the government, a situation they said infringes on their human rights.
