The President of the Ofori Panin Senior High School Old Students Association (OPASS), R.V. Kronteng Smart, has reaffirmed the association’s commitment to supporting the development of their alma mater as it marks its 65th anniversary.
Speaking during a global anniversary walk organized by the association, Mr. Smart explained that the 5-kilometre walk forms part of efforts to promote healthy living and strengthen unity among old students. He noted that good health is essential for members to actively contribute to the growth and progress of the school.
He further revealed that the association has lined up a number of activities ahead of the climax of the anniversary celebrations in November. According to him, these programmes are not only meant to celebrate the milestone but also to give back to the school in meaningful ways.

Mr. Smart highlighted that one of the key upcoming events is the “OPASS Goes Traditional” programme, which aims to promote Ghanaian culture among students. He explained that during the event, old students will teach current students how to prepare various traditional dishes while encouraging them to dress in traditional attire.
He added that the association is also planning several developmental projects that will directly benefit the school, assuring that by November, OPASS will roll out initiatives to improve teaching and learning conditions.
Meanwhile, the National Deputy Organizing Secretary of the association, Opanin Boadu, stated that although the anniversary walk is an annual activity, this year’s event is special because it coincides with the 65th anniversary celebration.
He disclosed that, in addition to the traditional programme, the association will organize a career fair for students next month to guide them in making informed career choices. He also noted that OPASS is grouped into four houses, which will take part in various activities, including traditional cooking competitions, as part of efforts to engage and mentor students.

Opanin Boadu emphasized that the series of programmes planned for the anniversary are aimed at strengthening the bond between old students and the school while contributing positively to student development.
