The Birim North District Assembly has demonstrated its commitment to supporting traditional institutions and community development with the presentation of 200 bags of cement towards the reconstruction of the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Palace at Akyem Oda.
The donation, made yesterday, was presented by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Hakeem Antwi Abdul, alongside the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Mark Addo, Mrs. Sandra Arkorh, political heads, and Nananom.
The Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, under the leadership of the Omanhene, Oseadeeyo Dr. Frimpong Manso IV, is undertaking the reconstruction of an ultra-modern palace to serve as the new seat of the traditional authority and preserve the heritage and identity of the Kotoku people.
The reconstruction is being driven largely by communal efforts, stakeholder support and contributions from corporate institutions. The Assembly’s contribution of 200 bags of cement is therefore aimed at supporting the Traditional Area in its efforts to bring this important project to completion.
Speaking during the presentation, the DCE reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to working closely with traditional authorities and other stakeholders to promote development and preserve important traditional institutions within the district.
The Birim North District Assembly extends its best wishes to the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area and looks forward to the successful completion of this historic project.
