Historic highlife crooner Nana Tuffuor has kicked the bucket at his residence in Kumasi in the early hours of Monday, June 15, 2020.
The musician who was known for his popular song, ‘Abeiku’ died at age 66 after battling with a short illness.
One of his close friends, Oheneba Kissi in an interview with Andy Dosty on HitzFM confirmed the death of his pal and added what he thinks led to the death of the highlife musician.
“Yes that is it, it’s true. The last time I spoke to Nana Tuffuor was on his birthday February 14. We used to talk a lot. A few weeks later he called to tell me that his younger brother Kwame Tuffuor is also gone. His brother (Kwame) is also in the fridge as I speak to you. He came down on a visit and then the COVID-19 locked him down and since then I haven’t spoken to him. This morning I got a message in my inbox saying Nana is also gone. Nothing showed that he could go this early because he was fit. I heard he was battling with diabetes but I’m not very sure”, he revealed.
The body of Nana Tuffuor has been deposited at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.
