Minister of Health, Hon. Kwaku Agyeman Manu has cut the sod for the construction of District Hospital in OKERE District capital.
The hospital is a 40-bed building that will be developed on a Turnkey basis by one of the most experienced contractors in the world, VAMED Engineering GmbH of Austria, and is expected to be completed in 24 months.
An amount of about €71,500,000 from Erste Group Bank AG and Ceska Sporitelna A.S., has also been available for the construction and equipping the 40-bed hospital which will consist of 12-units of 2-bedroom semi-detached accommodation for hospital workers in twelve different districts all over the country.
According to Hon. Agyeman, the NPP government is committed to improving the health of all citizens of the country by improving and building health care infrastructures across the country so the citizens can enjoy good health. He added that healthy people make a healthy nation.
Prior to the construction of this hospital, aside from Adukrom other towns will also benefit from the 40-bed hospital, towns such as Jumapo, Kwabeng, Nkwatia, Achiase, Suame, Drobonso, Sabronum, Manso Nkwanta, Twedie, Mim and Kpone Katamanso.
The Minister of Health urged the people to give Nana Addo Danquah another four years so he can complete the good works he has begun for the country and even initiate more projects that will make the country a better place.
The Honorable Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Samuel Nuertey Ayertey also thanked the Nananom for giving the land to enable the project to come to pass.
He assured them that, the Regional Coordinating Council will often monitor and report the work on the project and its progress so the work can be completed in the stipulated time.
Speaking at the same event, the Member of Parliament for Okere and the Minister of Regional Reorganization and Development, Hon. Dan Kwaku Botwe also expressed his gratitude for the continuous support shown to him by the Nananom.
He promised to work hard to ensure that the residents of Okere will benefit from the government’s policies and projects.
