The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described the refusal of government to release parked ambulances at the forecourt of the State House as insensitivity and leadership paralysis.
According to the NDC, the different conflicting excuses given by the President, the Vice President, the Minister of Special Development Initiatives and the CEO of the Ghana Ambulance Services indicate that the Akufo-Addo led is depriving Ghanaians of quality health care for cheap electoral gain.
In a statement issued by the Communication Director of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi, dated 7th January 2020, the party is, however, reminding the President Akufo-Addo of his constitutional duty under Article 36(1) to take all necessary action to secure the maximum welfare of every person in Ghana.
The President, in late last year, promised to commission the ambulances on Tuesday 7th January 2020 but it was postponed, after a request from the Ambulance Service for extra weeks to complete all necessary works and training.
