Dreams FC defender Issah Yakubu has shared his thoughts on the suspension of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League and its effect on the players due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The defender in an interview with Bryt FM expressed worry about the suspension of the league as he believes it will do more harm than good to the players.
According to him, staying at home without football comes with a lot of disadvantages.
“Staying at home for about two to three weeks now is very worrying because it’s through football some of us can enjoy”
“I think the excitement of the league came back until the outbreak of the disease which halted all football-related activities. The competitiveness of the league was exceptional but it’s unfortunate it has been suspended due to this pandemic”
“I’m not a happy person at all because staying at home without doing what I like most is not an easy thing to stand with. Though I’m with my family now but is like I miss my teammate” he added.
He has therefore called on Ghanaians to obey the directives of the president, Nana Akuffo Addo all in the interest to get rid of the deadly disease so they can return to the pitch.
