Former Ghana international John Mensah says he is pursuing evangelism in his quest to spread the word of God.
Mensah retired from football back in 2017, ending his over 17-years playing career.
The 41-year-old made significant impact during his playing days with the Black Stars. He was part of the squad that secured the Black Stars first World Cup qualification in 2006.
He also featured at the 2010 World Cup, where Ghana reached the quarterfinals of the competition.
Speaking in an interview, Mensah said, “I mostly spent time at the church. Having retired from the game, I think it is time for to also spread the word of God to others. I’m now into evangelism” he said.
As one of the longest serving players of the national team, Mensah can boast of 86 appearances and three goals for the Black Stars.
In addition, he played at the 2006, 2008 and 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
At club level, the budding defender who was nicknamed “the rock” played for Chievo Verona, Rennes, Lyon, Sunderland and others.
