1978 Africa Cup of Nations winner Mohammed Polo has praised the leadership of Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku, stating his administration is doing something good for Ghana football.
The legendary midfielder in an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Okraku and has therefore rallied support for the FA capo.
“Kurt Okraku’s administration has not fared bad at all. Per what I have seen, I think he is so much interested in the youth and I applaud him for that. The FA recently organized the regional youth games which will go a long way to help the country. I think he (Kurt) is doing something good”
“I was at Prampram and I realized the facilities there have been upgraded. So we can only support Kurt’s administration to do more for the betterment of our game” he added.
Kurt Okraku assumed office as the President of the Ghana Football Association in 2019 following the Anas Exposé, where the then leader Kwesi Nyantakyi was caught in bribery and corruption.
Nyantakyi resigned following allegations of bribery and corruption violations stemming from the controversial documentary.
He was initially banned for life by FIFA, but the ban was later reduced to 15 years upon appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in October 2020.
Okraku is in his second term after going unopposed during the FA elections back in 2023, where George Afriyie was disqualified.
