Daniel Fenyi, Head of the Public Relations Unit at the Ghana Education Service (GES), has clarified that GES is not limited to offices at the national headquarters but extends across all levels of the education system.
Speaking on Bryt Adekyee Mu Nsem, he explained that GES includes schools, districts, and regional offices. According to him, at the school level, GES is represented by headteachers, teachers, and students. At the district level, it involves district directors, district headteachers, and other education officers. Similarly, at the regional level, GES comprises regional directors and their teams.
Mr. Fenyi further noted that information within GES follows a structured chain of command. He explained that when data is collected at the national level, it is usually sourced from schools through district and regional offices. Therefore, if a director visits a school to collect information, it means the data has been verified through the appropriate channels, including headteachers, district directors, and regional directors.
To illustrate his point, he stated that as a national-level officer, he relies on regional offices whenever he needs information, which is then gathered from the lower levels.
He emphasized that understanding this structure is important for appreciating how the Ghana Education Service operates effectively across the country.
