New Juaben North residents of the Eastern region are worried about the poor state of their roads and are calling on government to intervene as soon as possible.
According to the aggrieved residents, the poor state of roads in the area is disturbing, since it has had negative impact on their livelihood.
Residents revealed that the poor state of roads make it difficult to transport their farm produce to market centres and also makes it difficult for them to move from one place to the other.
Residents disclosed this when the NDC Parliamentary candidate elect for New Juaben North, Samuel Adongo visited some communities to access it’s current state after several plea from Constituents.
Meanwhile, Hon Samuel Adongo briefing the media after the tour was worried about the neglect of roads in the area.
He called on government to consider the people of New Juaben North as they are yet to have their share of government’s Year of Roads promise.
He also advised the people to desist from voting on party lines but rather choose leaders who can and have the ability to deal with such basic needs.
The reporter also noticed that the contractors tasked to construct the Suhyen-Asikasu as well as Akwadum-Mpaem-Suhyen road have all abandoned site as they have evacuated all their machines and other materials.
The security man who worked with the the contractor on the Akwadum-Mpaem-Suhyen road spoke to the media, indicating that the contractor left for a different project awarded to him.
Some of the communities he visited includes; Effiduase, Asokore,Oyoko, Jumapo, Suhyen, Asikasu No1 & 2, Akwadum and Akwadum Mpaem.
