Okyenhene Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin has called on the privileged members of Akyem Abuakwa to reconnect with their roots and support the development of their communities.
This appeal was made during a durbar organized by the Adonten division of the Akyem Abuakwa State, part of the events celebrating his 25th anniversary on the Ofori Panin stool.
The Okyenhene highlighted the success of many citizens from Kukurantumi and Tafo, noting their significant contributions to national development, especially in the Information Technology industry and other economic sectors.
He emphasized the role of the Adonten division as a hub of knowledge, evidenced by numerous educational institutions in Kukurantumi and Tafo.
Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin encouraged those in high places to support the development agenda of Okyeman and urged the Adonten division to maintain unity.
He acknowledged existing disputes within the division and advised adherence to traditional and customary procedures for resolving chieftaincy issues.
He inspected STEM exhibition and robotics competition by students of Kukurantumi Roman Catholic School at the sideline of the event.
Adontenhene Daasebre Boamah Darko, delivering the State of Adonten address, praised the Okyenhene’s leadership and service over the past 25 years.
He highlighted several developmental projects initiated by the Okyenhene, including the construction of ten basic schools named the Amoatia Ofori Panin Model Schools, the establishment of the University College of Agriculture, Environment, and Science, and other initiatives addressing climate change and global warming.
The Adonten Division, second in command within the Akyem Abuakwa State’s hierarchy, manages the state’s administration in the Okyenhene’s absence.
It is one of the largest divisions, encompassing over 155 towns and villages, including Kukurantumi, Tafo, Asuom, Apapam, Takyiman, Osiem, Adoagyiri, Nkronso, and Akooko.
